This notice describes how we process the personal data of users who visit italiancharter.store and of those who request or make a boat rental booking, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended by Decree 101/2018.
1. Data we collect
During browsing and booking, we collect:
- Contact data: first and last name, phone number, email address, voluntarily provided via WhatsApp, email, or during the booking process.
- Payment data: payments (deposits and online balances) are handled entirely by Stripe, which acts as an independent data controller for card payment data. The Data Controller does not receive or store full credit card details.
- Browsing data: technical information automatically collected while browsing (IP address, browser type, pages visited), via technical and third-party cookies — see the Cookie Policy.
2. Purposes of processing
- Managing information requests and bookings;
- Providing the requested boat rental service;
- Compliance with accounting, tax and legal obligations;
- Communications related to the booking (confirmations, reminders, changes);
- Improving the website.
3. Legal basis
Processing is based on the performance of pre-contractual and contractual measures requested by the data subject (Art. 6.1.b GDPR), compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6.1.c GDPR) and, where necessary, the user's explicit consent (e.g. non-technical cookies).
4. Disclosure and transfer of data to third parties
Data may be disclosed to third parties who provide services instrumental to the business, including:
- Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. — online payment processing;
- Netlify, Inc. — website hosting.
These parties act as independent controllers or processors within the scope of their respective purposes, and may involve a transfer of data outside the EU (e.g. USA), safeguarded by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
5. Data retention
Contact data is retained for as long as necessary to manage the request or booking, and subsequently for the period required by tax and accounting legal obligations (10 years for accounting records, pursuant to Art. 2220 of the Italian Civil Code).
